What started as a willing group of wine growers in 1953 hs become a flourishing business dedicated to the production of high quality wines that reflect the flavours, style & history of the Piemonte vineyards from where the fruit is sourced. The main aim for Araldica winemaker & manager Claudio Manera (whose father Livio was the first winemaker of the co-operative forged in the 1950`s) is to make delicious wines that are accessible for all, "Quite simple, wine for drinking and enjoying." We can confirm that Araldica have well and truly suceeded! The Araldica Alasia Barolo is produced from Nebbiolo grapes hand harvested in Barolo, which are pressed and racked to stainless steel tanks before the wine undergoes three years of maturation in Slavonian oak casks and lastly gentle fining. Aromas of dark plum, leather and viol et are evident in the boiuquet, firm and ripe on the palate with an elegant, silky texture oozing with red and dark berry and cherry fruit, spices and hints of prune while notes of rapberry, tobacco and earthy truffle linger in the smooth finish. 100% Nebbiolo A fantastic match for traditional Italian style dishes from gutsy pasta to flavourful beef, duck and lamb based dishes. Also a classic partner for steak and a fine pairing for venison, pheasant or an earthy mushroom and parmesan risotto. Other Asti wines |
