It is situated in the small village of Nackenheim at the foot of the famous Rothenberg vineyard on the banks of the River Rhine. Riesling grapes make up 80% of the grapes planted and the avergae age of the vines is 25 years, giving the fruit wonderful concentrated and complex flavours. Beerenauslese translates as "selected harvest of berries" the grapes used for this wine have been through four or five selection processes before they arrive in the cellar and are harvested late to ensure maximum fruit and sugar concentration The wine has a glorious golden colour and honeyed pear & tropical fruit aromas. The intense sweetness of the fruit is balanced by a fine and perfectly balanced level of acidity giving the wine a divine texture that glides over the palate and a refreshing dry finish. This stunning wine can develop in the cellar for many more years. www.gunderloch.de 100% Riseling A wine complex & wonderful enough to be enjoyed alone or an amazing match for pate, cheeses including most notably Roquefort, creme brulee, cheesecake, hazelnut meringue, pear & frangipane tart .
