The colour is crimson with violet flecks, on the nose the aromas are of forward black cherry and blackberry fruit with hints of mocha and eucalyptus. The high Merlot content produces a generous fleshy palate with deep plum, mulberry and cassis while the Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure and fine tannins. The finish is long with elements of black cherry, cocoa and cedar. 80-85% Merlot 15-20% Cabernet Sauvignon Pomerol makes a wonderful partner to red meat dishes such as Beef Wellington, roast beef, rack of lamb, wild boar, pheasant and ripe cheeses such as Camembert.
