Chateau Beychevelle is a Fourth Growth Bordeaux known for wines of supreme elegance, that focus on flavour and balance rather than power. The 2003 vintage produced a generously fruity wine demonstarted clearly by the abundant notes of cherry and black berry fruit in the bouquet, coupled with tinges of licorice, graphite and cedar. The palate is well rounded and fleshy with further cherry, blackcurrant and plum flavours. The finish is long with fine tannins, hints of cocoa, steeped damson and spiced oak. www.beychevelle.com 53% Cabernet Sauvignon 34% Merlot 8% Cabernet Franc 5% Petit Verdot A fantastic Bordeaux to pair with beef and steak dishes, particularly those with rich wine sauces or mushrooms.
